Childbirth is an exciting and meaningful experience in a woman's life. Considering the utility of birthing ball among pregnant mothers in their antenatal period for reducing the intensity of labour pain, and fear, thus promoting a normal delivery, this study evaluated the effectiveness of this technique among 30 parturient women, 15 each from the experimental, and the control group, in the labour room of Lisie Hospital, Kochi (Kerala) selected by purposive sampling. Parameters of labour pain, coping and foeto-maternal aspects were factored in. The qualitative aspect of data collection involved 10 parturient participating women after childbirth picked by convenience sampling technique. The study revealed that they could cope with the labour pain experienced. The thematic analysis represents the childbirth experience after using birthing ball exercises among parturient women.
